Jennifer Cofrancesco – Street Smart

I started in the insurance world in 2015 as an agency owner of a Farmers Insurance Agency. In 2018, I sold the agency to focus on Street Smart, where I now hold a P&C and LA&H license. The best part about my job is having the unique opportunity to help families keep their loved ones and assets protected from whatever life throws their way. In fact, my favorite aspect of my role in the insurance industry has always been educating prospective and current clients on their insurance coverages.

I grew up right here in Hamden and went to Quinnipiac University, where I earned a BS in Business Marketing and a Masters in Business Administration. I wholeheartedly believe that Street Smart has made, and will continue to make, a difference in people’s lives by ensuring they are protecting the assets they spend their lifetime acquiring. On a personal note, I love spending time with my husband, Michael and our beautiful toddler son, Mikey. Mikey often visits the office and, of course, helps with insurance quotes–but most importantly agency morale! When I am not working, I can usually be found at home in North Haven, playing with my son or cooking a healthy meal with my husband. Something most people know about me is that I am an avid food enthusiast and love cooking, eating and reading cookbooks. I am also a proud supporter of Alzheimer’s research and the fight to find a cure!

I began my career as a Banker in the 70’s (that’s the 1970’s–I know, most of you were not born yet!) and I also held my Life/A&H license, as well. Shortly after, I started my very own agency to provide Credit Insurance to Financial Institutions. I was able to utilize my experience and knowledge of finance and apply my skills in a much more productive way–helping businesses grow! Speaking of which, as the agency grew larger, we evolved and expanded our customer base to Automotive Retailers, and of course, traditional insurance services for the valued members of our community. Ever since, I come to work every day loving what I do because I know that my team and I are helping families secure their peace of mind and keep the things they love most in life properly protected.

I grew up in Hamden and North Haven and taught International Finance for several years at Quinnipiac University. Educating people is a passion of mine and I am thrilled to share that passion each and every day with our customers. In fact, I have coached youth softball and basketball, as well as teaching Religious education to middle and high school kids. The diversity of my work has allowed me to have conversations across the kitchen table with many wonderful people as well as giving me the opportunity to meet with underwriters in London and Moscow to write risk on the Auto Dealer side.

My kids, my grandkids, and my patient wife continue to be a blessing in my life. When I’m not in the office I am either pushing Sheana, Mikey, and Ella (my grandkids) on the swings, playing in the sandbox, or pulling them in the RF wagon during one of many Summer weekends on the shore. Something that most people do not know about me is that I and my Roland electronic drum kit are bound to one day be on stage with the likes of Joe Satriani or Joe Bonamassa very soon–just you wait!

I have been licensed for over two years and enjoy spending my time helping our customer understand their insurance coverage needs. Working with people has always been something I love so being a trusted advisor for the members of this community has been a dream come true!
I grew up in East Haven Connecticut, attended Notre Dame High School in West Haven and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT shortly thereafter. When I am not in the office assisting customers with their insurance questions, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my three children. In fact, my favorite weekend activities involve coaching or watching my kids play soccer, lacrosse, and/or basketball. I coach in North Branford for lacrosse and travel/rec basketball. Another passion of mine is exercise and fitness. I enjoy daily runs and have been running continuously, daily, for over 9 years and counting. I am also a proud supporter of the North Branford Food Pantry and like to volunteer my time and resources whenever I can.

I started with Street Smart in January of 2021. Prior to working in our agency, I spent many years working for Independent Agents as well as State Farm, Allstate & Farmers. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing from Sacred Heart University in 1991.

I am a Licensed Agent in the State of Connecticut and bring 30 years of experience in the Property & Casualty field. I enjoy connecting with my customers each day and servicing them to the best of my ability leaving them informed and satisfied with their insurance experience.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family as much as possible, routing for my kids in all that they do, celebrating family every chance we get, and visiting the vineyards on dates with my husband or friends. Additional interests that some may not know about me is my love of photography and trying new recipes! I incorporated the two in an Instagram page called @mangiawithsharon.

Amelia Swisher – Street Smart

I am actually completely new to the insurance business! I feel like I am learning a whole new language but I am enjoying learning all of the ins and outs of this business. I grew up right here in Hamden, CT. I received my education in sports medicine from Quinnipiac University and still work part-time at an orthopedic clinic in Shelton/Fairfield. I also have my master’s degree in teaching thinking one day I may want to teach health sciences to middle/high school students. I love spending time with my daughter Ella, she is a nonstop mover and explorer! My husband and I can barely keep up with her. I also spend a lot of time with my growing family of nieces and nephews. When we all get together it is chaos but a lot of fun! When I am not with family you can find me in the gym lifting weights and taking cross-fit type classes.
